During August 2010 several groups of orcas has been observed inside the safari area.

Orcas were spotted both from land at Korsnes and by the ferry at Bognes today:) We also heard that orcas had been seen by the ferry in Ofotfjord 2 days ago and by fishing boats around the Island of Skrova in Lofoten 3 days ago.

Today was the first day of the ORCA TYSFJORD season 2010/11. It was a beautiful day with the sun shining and not too much wind. The sea eagles were very friendly and came down to take herring close to the boat and the scenery was spectacular as usual but unfortunately we did not find any orcas even though they were seen in Tysfjord yesterday. We hope for better luck tomorrow.

Today was very windy making conditions difficult for spotting Orcas. The rough sea limited the places we could search but the sea eagles were still friendly and came to take some herring close to the boat again. After the safari at around 15:30 we got a call to say the orcas had been spotted in Skarstad, where we were searching the day before. Typical!

No safari today but the Lødingen ferry called us at around 10:30 to tell us that there were orcas between Barøy and Lødingen. They also called at 14:40 to tell us the orcas were now outside Lødingen. So the orcas are still around.
