Nature- and killer whale safaris
Welcome to a spectacular and unique experience. ORCA TYSFJORD has been arranging killer whale safaris since 1990, and is the pioneer in its field. We are proud to be able to welcome
you to our killer whale safari, by large boat, inflatable dinghy or, if you are really ambitious, snorkeling amongst killer whales.
In 1987, huge quantities of herring chose Tysfjord as their new wintering
area. They were followed by hundreds of killer whales, which have been coming back every autumn to hunt herring.
The past two years, we have noticed that nature is changing. There is not as much herring in
the fjords anymore, and the orcas have been more difficult to find. Some of the groups will continue to come back to Tysfjord every winter.
Tysfjord is situated in the heart of a spectacular area with a
unique wild life, giving us the possibility to arrange breathtaking adventures.
From the season 2008-2009, we extend the Orca Tysfjord concept with other nature related activities, as a complement to the
orca safaris.
You're not a spectator, but part of a unique natural phenomenon.
