Nature safari / Elk safari
We take you to visit extreme coastal nature. We drive by bus or car from Basecamp on a 2 or 3 hour trip to experience wild and beautiful nature.
If we are lucky we will meet the elk - the king of the forests - in his own, natural environment.
We may not only meet elks, since the area has a rich animal life, representing fox, otter, hares, white-tailed eagles, herons and cormorants.
If the weather and ground permits, we will visit the rock-carving field of "Dyreberget" (which means "the rock of the animals") at Leiknes. The oldest
rock-carvings of the field are 9000 years old. The field is composed by 55 drawings. Amongst other animals, we can see a moose, a bear, two swans, a reindeer, a large orca and a small hare.

Most of the animals are drawn in natural size. The field is very impressive.
Then we leave for Korsnes, which is an idyllic fishing village. We'll have a walk on the pier, and if we are lucky, we'll see cormorants, otters and sea eagles.
Then we continue to Tysnes. On our way, we'll see several beaches with white, clean sand. We'll have a nice walk on the rocks and on the beaches, enjoying the view
to the Vestfjord and to the wall of the Lofoten Island.
